Weekend Recap

It was a 4-point weekend for the Braves as our win-streak is now 4. A battle with the Applejacks on Friday evening, the Braves prevailed winning by a score of 5-3. Saturday, a trip down the 403 to take on the Paris Titans. The Braves won by a score of 7-3.

On Friday evening, the Braves welcomed the defending Schmalz Cup Champions to town. This being the fourth meeting (including last weekends suspended game due to ice conditions) between the two teams, it was sure to be a tough matchup. It was the Jacks that got the party started first, just over a minute into the game when Isiah Katsube streaked in and put it past O’Leary. The early goal seemed to light a fire for the Braves, as it was all Tavi for the rest of the first frame. Ian Glendinning banged home his 4th of the season just under 6 minutes into the first period. The Jacks took a couple penalties, and it cost them with Ryan Suljak and Jacob Reid-Brant each tallying their 4th goals of the season sending us into the first Intermission ahead 3-1. In the 2nd, Nolan Karger brought the Jacks within one goal just over 7 minutes into the frame. Owen Stoddard then evened us up for his first of the season shorthanded. With just under 5 minutes to play in the period, Will Schlotzhauer ripped a point shot that beat Travis Jansen to regain the lead. A quiet 3rd period with a combined of 11 shots total, Ryan Suljak found the empty net to push the Braves to victory.
