The Braves hit the road this weekend with a couple of matchups versus the New Hamburg Firebirds and the Wellesley Applejacks.
On Friday evening the Braves headed into the Wilmot Rec. Centre and skated away with a 4-2 victory over the hometown Firebirds. Stephen Peppas continued his hot start as he put two past Theodoropoulos in the first 8:24 of the game. Keegan Metcalf got one back for the Birds shortly after to send us into the first intermission ahead by a goal. The only marker of the 2nd frame came 3:25 into the period as Owen Bruder evened the scoring for the Firebirds and sent us into the 3rd all level at 2. The 3rd period remained gridlocked until late, when Cullen Derry broke the seal and put the Braves ahead with just over a minute to play. Ryan Suljak added an empty netter to seal the deal. James Hopper picked up the victory making 35 saves in the win. Tony Theodoropoulos got the nod and made 31 saves for the Birds.

On Saturday evening it was a trip to the temporary home of the Wellesley Applejacks of St. Clements. Jacob Reid-Brant got the scoring started just over 9 minutes into the game beating Travis Jansen. The Jacks struck back on the back of Logan Crans who beat Liam O’Leary to even the score. Due to poor ice conditions the game would not go on much longer and was suspended at the 1:54 mark of the 1st period after a lengthy delay.
