WEEKEND RECAP Oct 7 – 9

A big 4-point weekend for the Braves began with the Wellesely Applejacks coming to town on Friday night. The Jacks got on the board first scoring at the 6 min mark of the 1st.  The Jack’s lead was short lived though as the Braves Arseneau and Suljak would both score giving the home team a 2-1 lead by the end of 1st.  The 2nd was all Braves as Glendinning, and Jameson Ritz-Teixeira added to the lead giving the Braves a 4-1 lead heading into the 3rd.  Tavi’s Otto added one more in the 3rd extending the lead and securing the 5-1 win.

On Saturday the Braves travelled to New Hamburg to take on the Firebirds. The Braves McKay opened the scoring at the 10 min mark of the 1st but the Firebirds answered just a few minutes later tying the game at one.  The netminders on both teams stole the show in the 2nd and 3rd standing on their heads successfully shutting the door on all the offensive creativity forcing OT.  It only took just over a minute of OT play for the Braves Fanjoy to find the back of the back of the net giving the Braves the 2-1.  Kernichan earns win number 5.
