Weekend Recap

The Braves picked up all 4 points this weekend with two big wins over the Shamrocks and the Firebirds.

On Friday evening, the Hespeler Shamrocks were in town for the 2nd meeting between the two teams this season. Tyler Brezynskie got the party started early when he beat Lucas Hillert for his 5th goal of the season. The teams would go back and forth before a last second dagger by Boden White (6) beat James Hopper to send us into the 2nd period all level. Nothing to show for in the 2nd as both teams couldn’t find the back of the net. The 3rd period would be kicked off with a Nic Thibodeau (6) powerplay marker just 1:53 into the period. The 1 goal lead would stick until the final minute of the period when Jacob Roach (5) would add a third for the Braves with the man advantage and put the game away.

 

 

Saturday evening saw the Braves on the road to meet the New Hamburg Firebirds. The Braves looked to revenge against the Firebirds after a 4-0 just a couple of weeks ago. A back and forth 1st period saw Liam O’Leary and Graeme Noye kick away all shots faced. Antonio Pasqualino (5) would get the Birds on the board just 0:41 seconds into the period beating O’Leary. Marc Dionne (2) would break into the zone and rip is passed Noye to even the score. Nic Thibodeau (7) would then score a beautiful goal to put the Braves ahead with just over a minute remaining in the 2nd frame. Owen Fischer (14) would even up the score just before the break to send us to the 3rd level. Carson Bernhardt (5) would then rip it from the point on the powerplay to put the Braves ahead. Just over a minute later Ryan Suljak (7) would enter the zone and put it passed Noye to extend the lead. The Birds would fight back, but to no avail as the Braves would skate away to extend the win streak to 4.
